Ask a QTAX consultant for advice on whether or not you need to lodge a tax return.
Different deductions can be claimed for different occupations and can depend on any allowances you have been paid and the receipts that you still possess. QTAX recommends that any and all work and business related expenses are recorded (with receipts being kept and stored safely) and that a diary and/or logbook is maintained. All of these things will need to be brought with you in order to prepare your return.
Providing there is a sufficient amount in your ATO refund, you are able to have the fee for preparing your tax return automatically taken out of your refund. The net amount remaining will then be deposited into your nominated bank account. A small additional processing fee is charged for this service.
Last year, the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) processed 90% of all returns from tax agents within 14 working days (Mondays - Fridays). Some delays can be experienced with data matching between the ATO, Centrelink and other government agencies. If you haven't received your refund within 21 days, contact the QTAX office where your return was prepared.
